Winston Adams Obituary

Bro. Winston Raleigh Adams, 59, departed this life Thursday February 28, 2019 in Florence County. You may visit the family at 1930 Foxworth Rd. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the New Greater Singletary AME Church in the Wahee Community Saturday March 9, 2019 at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest in the New Greater Singletary AME Church Cemetery.

~Obituary~

Mr. Winston Raleigh Adams known as “Rallie” departed this life on Thursday February 28, 2019 at 4:15 pm. at the McLeod Health Hospital in Florence South Carolina.

Winston was born to the late Cleve and Bessie Williams Adams on July 18, 1959 in the Wahee Community of Marion South Carolina.

He began his education in Boston, Mass. and then in 1977 he moved back to South Carolina with his mom. Then he went to Marion High School where he graduated in 1979, and he attended Florence- Darlington Technical College to pursue his career.

He work on the farm, until he got employed at Raytex until his health began to fail. He is a member of the New Greater Singletary AME Church in the Wahee Community in Marion County.

He loved talking and helping people, also fishing and hunting.

He leaves to cherish his find and loving memories to one son Jarod Lashawn Adams of Marion South Carolina, step daughter Myra T. Odom of Columbia South Carolina, seven brothers; Frank Adams, Joseph (Betty) Adams, Clayton Rowell Jr. of Boston Mass. Cato (Patricia) Adams, Master (Sharon) Adams of Brockton, Mass., Jonathan Adams, Rufus Davis of Marion South Carolina, eight sisters; Elizabeth Adams Rowell of Boston Mass., Effie Adams Avant, Hazeltine Davis, Annie Smith, Katherine D. Hyatt, Brenda (Izeall) Wilson all of Marion South Carolina, Christa (Alvin) Edwards of Latta South Carolina and Lizzie A. Prioleau of Marnitta GA., one aunt Lula Adams Sanders of Marion South Carolina, and a host of other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Effie, Jonathan, Annie who help care for him day by day and good family and friends Sharon Davis, Makayla, Doretha Davis, his aide Anita Thomas for his care and long term care.
