Brother Willie Lee Johnson was 69, and departed this life Friday September 15, in Columbia, SC. He was the husband of Melinda Johnson. You may visit the family at 506 Willie Hodge Rd. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Fork, SC on Friday September 22. He will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Willie Lee Johnson, departed this life on September 15, 2023 at the Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.  He was born on June 13, 1954 in Lake View, South Carolina.  Mr. Willie Johnson was preceded in death by both his parents, Mr. Henry Johnson and Mrs. Lucille Ford Johnson, a sister Martha Ann Edwards and a brother Mr. Elijah Ford. 

Mr. Willie Lee Johnson attended the public schools of Dillon County.  He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard with an honorable discharge.  His work career included AVM, John Deere for several years and the owner and operator of his own moving company Carolina Movers and Storage. 

Willie was a very strong believer in prayer and accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his personal savior.  Willie, had a kind a giving heart and was loved by everyone that came through his path of life.  He will be truly missed but the memories of Mr. Willie Lee Johnson will forever be embedded in our hearts.

In 1994 Willie and Melinda were united in holy matrimony for twenty-nine wonderful years and was with four children; two daughters Demetris Johnson (Zephaniah Baker) of Charlotte, NC and Latoya Davis of Marion, SC.  Two stepsons Benjamin Williams and Michael Williams both of Columbia, SC and two special sons Delton Bethea of Dillon, SC and Kenneth Waiters Jr of Marion SC.

Willie leaves precious memories in the hearts of his loving wife Melinda Ann Johnson of the home in Columbia, SC. Three sisters Ida Mae Johnson Cooper (Charles Cooper) of Mullins, SC, Mary Helen Edwards of Mullins, SC, and Miranda Johnson of Mullins, SC.  One brother John Henry Johnson of Zion, SC, Fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grand child, a host of nieces and nephews. A very special cousin Russell Ford and four special friends, Erskine Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Frank Graham, and James McBride.
