Deacon William Floyd departed this life Saturday, July 19 in Nichols, SC. He was the husband of Pastor Rosetta Floyd and the father of Regina Bellamy, Kathy Floyd and Stevie Floyd.

Funeral services for Deacon William Floyd are scheduled to be held Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 3:00pm in the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park. You may visit the family or send cards and condolences to 161 Aloha Drive, Nichols, SC 29581.

Funeral services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. The family will provide a guest list of 50 or less people.

Deacon Williams Steven Floyd was born to the late Leroy Floyd Sr. and Louvenia Moore Floyd in Horry County on July 4, 1946. He attended Marion County public schools. He was joined in holy matrimony to Rosetta Moody and to this union three children were born.

He moved to Washington, DC, where he worked at Southern Railroad Company until he retired. In 1989, he moved back to SC where he worked several jobs including Beneteau Boat Plant and Russell Stover Candy Plant where he was affectionately known as the “Candyman”.

Deacon Floyd is a living testimony that your latter days shall be greater than your past. As a dedicated member of the Holy Temple Church Ministries, he was totally committed to the maintenance and upkeep of the church. His faithfulness in serving the kingdom of God was unwavering until his death. We all know he was devoted Washington Redskin Fan HTTR!

William was preceded in death by his adopted daughter Angela Denise Wall and one brother Silas Floyd.

William leaves to cherish his loving memories ~ his wife, Dr. Rosetta Floyd; his children: Stevie Floyd (Carolyn) of Brandywine, MD, Regina Bellamy (James) of Mullins, SC, Kathy Floyd of Columbia, SC, Nakiya Dean (Wesley) of Gaithersburg, MD, and Yolanda Brown of Laurel, MD. His siblings: Louise Franklin, Mary Ann Owens, Lula Mae Davis (Willie) all of Marion County, Charlene Raikes of Cherry Hill, NJ, Leroy Floyd Jr. (Eva) of Marion, SC, Rev. John Floyd Sumpter (Pat) of Georgetown, SC, one brother-in-law Clyde Moody Jr. of Mullins, SC and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special friends: The Reaves Brothers, Van Hodge and Curtis Williams. He was a friend of many and wasn’t a stranger to anyone.

The family of Deacon William Floyd, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Floyd family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
