Sister Virginia Gause was 79 and she departed this life on Saturday, June 6 in Florence County. She was the mother of Charles Gause, Saretha Gause, John McClellan, Malcolm Gause, Herman  McClellan Jr. and Kedale McClellan. You may visit the family at 708 Drew Rd. Mullins. 

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Monday June 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest the Devotion Gardens Cemetery. Funeral services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. The family will provide a guest list.

Sister Virginia Gause, a precious gift from God, born on October 23, 1940 in Marion, SC. She was the eldest daughter of the late Willie and Maggie Gause.

Sister Virginia was educated in Marion County. She worked at Russell Stover’s where she later retired.

In her earlier years, she was a member of Bethel AME Church. She later moved her membership to Sandy Grove Holiness Church. As a member she became active as an Usher she served faithfully until her health failed. 

She entered eternal life on Saturday, June 06,2020 at MUSC Hospital in Florence, SC amongst family members.

Sister Virginia Gause was preceded in death by her five brothers and one sister: Willie Gause, Arthur Gause, Graham Gause, Lacy Gause, Clyde Gause, and Katherine Gause.

Left to cherish her memories: Herman McClellan. Six children: Charles (Shirley) Gause, Columbia SC, Saratha(Dana) Gause, Marion SC, Malcolm(Leila)Gause, Hesperia, CA, Herman McClellan, Marion SC, John McClellan, Columbia SC, Kendal McClellan, Marion SC. Eight Grand Children: Andre Gause, Randi Gause, Antonio Gibson, Adaisia Bethea, Jasmine McClellan< Helena Gause, John McClellan Jr, Malcolm Gause Jr. Seven Great Grands: Ka ’Marion Bristow, Aubrey Gibson, Arihanna Gibson, Kay’le Frazier, Nahla Smith, Alexia Gibson, and Jace McElveen. Sisters: Rosa (Allen) Morris of New Jersey, Juanita Darby, and Shirley Emmanuel, all of Marion SC. Two Brothers: Fred and the late (Mary)Gause of Columbia SC, Dennis (Linda)Gause of Thomasville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family of Sister Virginia Gause, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Gause family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
