Vicella Reena Pressley

Sister Vicella Reena Pressley was 61, and departed this life Saturday April 17, 2021 in Horry County. She was the daughter of Ozella Pressley, the mother of Juan Presley, Rayshawn Pressley and Arthur Lowe Jr. You may visit the family at 251 Martin Luther King Rd. Gresham SC. 

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Old Neck Cemetery, Britton's Neck on Sunday April 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

~ Obituary ~

Sister Vicella Reena Pressley, affectionally known as Pee Wee, gained her wings on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Horry County. On October 2, 1959, she was born to the late Frank and Ozella Pressley in Rockledge, Florida. She began her education at Monroe High School in Cocoa, Florida, and later finished after moving to Marion County.  

While living in Florida, she worked at Clayton Seafood. She was employed at the Pavilion and later at Capitan D’s in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, until her health declined. 

She baby sat her nieces and nephews while her siblings worked. She loved going to the beach and shopping with her family. She loved to go fishing in her spare time.

Vicella was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, five aunts, three uncles, and partner Arthur Lowe, Sr. 

She leaves to cherish her fond memories her mother Ozella Pressley of Britton’s Neck, SC; her sons, Juan Pressley of Conway, SC, Rayshawn Pressley of Charlotte, NC, and Arthur Lowe, Jr., of the home; two daughters-in-laws April Pressley and Marian Lowe. Her four siblings Reginald Pressley of Britton’s Neck, SC, Frankie (Angela) Pressley of Gresham, SC, Regina (Ronald) Bellamy of Smyrna, TN, and Everette Pressley of Britton’s Neck, SC. Three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Five aunts Lottie Ann Davis of Gresham, SC, Pearlette (Wesley) Hooks of Georgetown, SC, Gladys (James) Tillman St. Helena Island, SC, JoAnn Cumbee of Andrews, SC, Hannah (Jimmy) Cumbee-McCall of Montgomery, AL; four uncles Calvin Pressley of New York, NY, Charlie (Jaqueline) Rogers of Mullins, SC, Joshua (Anita) Cumbee of Adairsville, GA, Roland (Yvonne) Cumbee Jr. of Hephzibah, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 The family of Sister Vicella Reena Pressley in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Pressley family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
