Mother Vera Mae McCloud was 86, and departed this life Sunday March 19, in Florence County. You may visit the family at 907 S. Withlacoochee Ave. Marion.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the St. Stephens Baptist Church on Saturday March 25, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Jackson & Daughters Cemetery.

Mother Vera Mae McCloud, better known as Beebe was born on March 29, 1936, in Marion County to the late Mary E. Hemingway and late Julius Hemingway. She was married to the late Deacon John Willie McCloud. She departed this earthy life on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Mrs. Vera attended public school in Marion County. She had the gift of sewing and worked for many sewing companies in the area. She attended St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church faithfully and served on many auxiliaries like deaconess, usher board, senior choir, superintendent of Sunday school, president of the outreach choir, and Sunday schoolteacher to name a few, She continued to serve as Mother of the church and President of Missionary until her departure.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Ivory, two sisters, Barbara M. Hemingway and Virginia J. Finklea, two brothers, Sidney Hemingway and Frank Lee Hemingway, and one granddaughter Vera Cabbagestalk.
She leaves to cherish three daughters, Mary (Joseph) McKenzie of Arizona, Doris (Jackie) Muckelvaney, and Glenda (James) Cabbagestalk of Marion S.C. one son Lorenza (Millicent) Hemingway of Marion S.C. three brothers Marshall Hemingway of Lumberton N.C., James Heminway and Billy Hemingway both of Marion SC.
She also leaves ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
