Bro. Thurman Legette, 71, departed this life omg Saturday September 29, 2018 in Marion County. He was the husband of Katherine Legette. You may visit the family at 138 Bowling Green Rd. Marion.

Wake services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel Thursday October 4, 2018 6pm-8pm. Joppa Hill Lodge 376 will be in charge of rites.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the St. Phillips United Methodist Church, Marion Friday October 5, 2018 at 11:00am.

Obituary

Thurman “Bay” Legette, Sr.’s sunrise on this earth was Thursday, August 7, 1947. His departure came on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Mullins Nursing Center, Mullins, SC.He was the son of the late Willie Jerome and Louise Hazel Floyd Legette.

Thurman worked at Russell-Stover Candies for several years before he left to become a truck driver later for Marion School District 1 from which he retired.

He leaves his memories to cherish by Kathy (Wife); two sons- Thurman Legette, Jr. of Petersburg, VA, Adrian Legette of Fayettville, NC; three daughters: Angela Nichols and Shelia (James) Covington both of Marion, SC and Ariane Legette of Norfolk, VA; two sisters: Willie Mae Rayford of Marion, SC and Lydia Swinson of Newark, NJ and an entire loving family of grandchildren, a great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Thurman was also a member of the St. Phillips United Methodist Church where he ushered, sang on the choir and the T.B. Thomas Male Chorus. He was a member of Joppa Hill Lodge #176, Johnakin High School Class of 1965 and Tri-County Male Chorus.
