Tammy Genise Israel

Sis. Tammy Genise Israel, 55, departed this life Monday December 3, 2018 in Wilmington, NC. She was the mother of Marcus Dewitt.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Marion Sunday December 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

OBITUARY

Ms. Tammy Genise Israel was born December 8, 1963 and departed this life Monday, December 3, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She was born to the late Dennis (Bum) and Mamie Lee Godbolt Legette.

Tammy was raised by her Uncle and Aunt, Robert and Eva Israel and her Aunt, Fannie P. DeWitt in Marion, SC.  She lived so many places and touched so many lives. She was currently residing in Wilmington, NC.

She received her education in Marion County School District.  She accepted Christ at an early age at St. John A.M.E. Church in Marion.  Tammy attended and participated in many church activities in cities where she resided.

Tammy leaves behind her loving husband, Charles (Nut) Gray; two devoted sons, Marcus DeWitt of Wilmington, NC, Christopher Israel of the home; a devoted Sister Cousin, Roberta (Shelton) Robinson of the home; sisters: Gloria Jones, of Mullins, SC; Frances Wilson of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Anthony Israel of Wilmington, Delaware, three brothers-in-law:  George (Deidra Nicole), Lonnie (Liz) and John (Ashia); six sisters-in-law: Wanda (Jesse), Jean, Elaine (Bernard), Shrail (Rashard), Gloria Jean-Jenomia (Jerome) and Priscilla. A special friend, Linda (James) Gilchrist of Wilmington, NC.

She was blessed to have a host of children, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extremely close friends who became like sisters and family in her heart.
