Syrenthia Maria Owens

Sister Syrenthia Maria Owens was 56, and departed this life Monday January 27, 2020 at her home in Marion County. She was the daughter of Sarah Owens. You may visit the family at 907 Strawberry St. Marion. 

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel Wednesday February 5, 2020 at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

Syrenthia Maria Owens departed his life January 27, 2020, at the home of her mother. Syrenthia  was born July 30, 1963 in Marion, SC., to Sarah and the late Willie Owens Sr. but she was raised in New York City, NY. She graduated from Leake Watts High School, NY. She moved backed to Marion, SC, where she worked with former Mayor Bobby L. Davis as a volunteer for two summers where she received two awards, one for the summer of 2015, the other one for 2016.  She worked as a CNA for a while. She was a hard worker.

 Syrenthia left to cherish her fond memories one son, William H. Britt., her mother Sarah Owens, three brothers; James William Owens, Willie Owens and Minister Lorenzo & Sharon Owens, one sister Joann Owens of NY., her uncles Dea. Raymond (Janie) McKenzie, Joseph (Mary) McKenzie, James N. McKenzie all of Columbia, SC, two special uncles Clyde Gause of Marion, SC and Wesley Johnsons, of NY, whom she called Dad. Aunts; Jeanette J. McKenzie of Scottdeal, Az., four sisters-in-law, six aunts. Syrenthia had special persons who call sisters; Sandra T. Brown, Tammy Shird -Little Sister,  Estell McIntosh, her sister-in-law. A special cousin Aliza Smith and Kendix Franklin, her little man. She leaves a host of relatives, nieces, cousins, nephews and friends. Her favorite nephew James William Owens III aka Baby.
