Brother Steve Sylvester Walker was 61, and departed this life Monday February 3, 2020 in Marion County. He was the husband of Janette Walker.
The funeral service for Bro. Steve Walker is scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel in Marion, SC, Sunday, February 9 at 3pm. Bro. Steve Walker will be laid to rest at the Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery in Sellers, SC.

Mr. Steve Sylvester Walker was born on August 25, 1958 and entered into eternal rest on Monday February 3, 2020 at his home in Mullins, SC. He was born to the late Council Lee Walker Jr. and Annie Louise Robinson.
Steve had fifteen years of education where he attended the public schools of Marion County, SC during childhood and pursued higher education at Florence Darlington Technical College for Criminal Justice as an adult in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Steve served in the US Army Armed Force in Fort Jackson/ AFEE where ranked E4 as a Special Force Ranger. He was with the 82nd Airborne Unit in Fort Bragg, NC where he also received MEDALS for Marksman Expert and Good Conduct. Steve was a Jehovah witness and Studied with Mr. Raymond Bowens.
He was proceeded in death His son Oliver Julius “OJ” Walker, two brothers Council Lee Walker III, Thornell Walker and sister Terry Walker- Eddings.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ his wife Janette Walker; his children; Yvonne (Randy) Simmons of Orlando FL, Steve Walker Jr. and Karma Walker of Baltimore, MD; Sharron Walker and Elijah Walker of Sumter, SC; his step-children; Early Greaves II, Pamela Graves, Mildred Graves and Maceo Graves; his siblings: Frank (Ann) Robinson Jr. of Hendersonville, NC and Stephanie (Joe) Lasane of NC; three aunts; Lillian Raysor, Roxanne Raysor and Janice Raysor one uncle: Julius “Scoop” Raysor; twelve grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
