~ Obituary ~

Shirley Parsley Foxworth departed this life on Sunday, November 6, 2022, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Henry Floyd Parsley Sr. and Catherine Davis Parsley.

Shirley was educated at the public schools of Marion County, South Carolina and was a graduate of Johnakin High School Class of 1965.

She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age. She actively served as Sunday school superintendent, president of the usher board, church sexton and secretary of the missionary society until her health declined.

Shirley was employed with Marvel Lighting Company and later joined Anvil Knitwear, where she remained employed for 23 years.

Because of her passion for children, she opened a daycare in her home.  After several years of caring for children, she decided to retire and enjoy life with her family.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Shirley leaves to cherish loving memories four children: Steven (Kema) Parsley of Conway, SC,    Sherry Foxworth of Marion, SC, Renee Foxworth of Columbia, SC and Michael (Cherise) Foxworth   also of Marion, SC; eight grandchildren: Donovan Evans, Pierre Foxworth, Dahndray Foxworth, Makayla Curry, JaQuan Curry, Jamesha Hemingway, SuMiya Foxworth and Mariah Foxworth;          four great-grandchildren, two sisters: Alice Capers and Lisa Ceaser; two brothers: Ervin (Deloris) Parsley and Kevin Parsley; two sisters-in- law: Jennifer Parsley and Regina Parsley; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A special thank you to her niece “Gina” for assisting as her caregiver.
