Obituary

 

Saint Elmoore Holmes, Jr departed this life on May 19, 2020 in Arlington, TX.

He was the son of Peggy Alexander-Fields and the late St Elmore Holmes Sr, the step-son of Mr Tommy Alexander, and the brother of Tolland Alexander all of Florence, SC.

Memorial Services are scheduled for Thursday July 2, 2020 at 12 noon at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel in Marion, SC. Entombment will be in the Florence National Cemetery. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Obituary

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.  A time to be born and a time to die…. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 

 St. Elmoore Holmes, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 19, 2020 at his home in Arlington, Texas. 

He was born on July 22, 1973 in Marion County. He was the son of Peggy Alexander Fields and the late St. Elmoore Holmes and the stepson of Tommy Alexander.  

At an early age, Saint joined Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in Rains, SC. During his years of travel, he was affiliated with several churches around the world. 

He received his elementary education in Marion County and middle and high school education in Florence County. Saint was a 1991 graduate of Wilson High School in Florence, SC. After high school he attended the University of South Carolina, where he obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Business Economics/Finance in 1996.  

After college, Saint began his work career at Roche Carolina in Florence, SC. In 1998, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 2017 he received an Honorary Discharge at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. He was highly decorated and received many medals and commendations for his years of military service. After his discharge, Saint relocated to Arlington, Texas where he did Government Service contract work for the military until his death.  

Anyone who knew Saint, knew how private he lived his life. He enjoyed traveling and experiencing new things. As a child he talked about seeing the world.  

In addition to his father, Saint was preceded in death by grandparents, Ernestine Leonard, Malcolm Leonard, Lottie Holmes, Isaac Holmes, Sr. extended grandparents, Louise Alexander, Oneil Alexander, Sr., five uncles and one aunt. 

Those left to cherish and honor his memories are his mother, Peggy A. Fields (Richard) Step-Father Tommy L. Alexander, brother Tolland Alexander (Shantell), sister Marrisa Holmes, nephew Dayton J. Alexander, and host of other relatives and supportive friends.
