Roosevelt Sparks

Brother Roosevelt Sparks, was 78 and departed this life Saturday March 4, 2023 in Florence County. He was the father of Chris Sparks, the brother of Alma Sparks. You may visit the family at 1803 Phil Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Tabernacle AME Church on Saturday March 18, at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Tabernacle AME Church Cemetery.

Mr. Roosevelt Sparks entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at MUSC Hospital, Florence SC 29571.

Mr. Roosevelt Sparks was born in Marion County, South Carolina to the late Corine Sparks and the late Herbert Brown, both from Marion County. 

He attended Terrell's Bay public schools in Marion County. He joined Tabernacle AME church at an early age. He moved to New Jersey at the age of 16, where he worked for Pathmark for 35 years as a Maintenace man where he retired at the age of 65.

One brother who proceeded in death Billy Sparks of Marion SC, and a sister who proceeded in death Catherine Sparks of Patterson NJ.
He leaves to cherish his son Christopher “Chris” Sparks. Two grandchildren; Chyna Henderson and Jayden Sparks, Daughter-in-law Latoya Henderson all of West Orange, NJ., Two sister’s Alma J Sparks and Clara Sparks both of Marion SC. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Many special friends whom he cherishes especially; Horace Lee Sparks and John L Sparks and Paul and Frank.
