Robert Hunter Obituary

The family of Robert Hunter, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Hunter family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.

Bro. Robert Hunter was 70, and departed this life Thursday April 2, 2020 in Florence County. He was the husband of Jacquelyn Hunter. You may visit the family at 4408 Agnew Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Marion on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 12:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will provide a guest list of 50 people or less. 

Obituary for Robert Hunter

    Mr. Robert Hunter, son of the late Marion Hunter Sr. and Eula Mae Hunter, was born on June 19, 1949 in Marion, SC.  God saw fit to call him into eternal rest on April 2, 2020.

    He was educated in Marion where he graduated from Johnakin High School in 1967.  Robert was drafted into the Army in 1969 and reenlisted in 1973.  On September 17, 1976 he married Jacquelyn Helen Mitchell of Florence, SC and they had two sons.  They were married for 43 years.  After 22 years of faithful service, Robert retired from the US Army on August 1, 1991.

    He leaves to cherish precious memories:  his wife, Jacquelyn Helen Hunter of the home; two sons, Anthony Hunter (Dominique) of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Hunter (Amanda) of Grovetown, GA; three sisters, Louvenia Floyd (James), Gonsie Williams, Emma Jean Hunter; three brothers, Raymond Hunter (Anna), Marion Hunter Jr., Calvin Hunter (Lisa); Five grandchildren, Tarique, Taylor, Micah, Gabriel, and Addison; one great grandchild, Asaiah Young; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
