~ Obituary ~
"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter  into the joy of your Lord." Matthew 25:23

During the quiet still morning hours of March 22, 2022 Mrs. Remell Bennett departed this life in Atlanta, GA.

Remell was born on November 11, 1943 to the late Douglas Abraham and the late Azalea Graves Abraham.  She received her education in the Marion County School System and graduated from Terrell's Bay High School in the Class of 1962.  It was in the Friendship Community that she met the love of her life, Mr. Pearley Lee Bennett.  They wed in 1967 and  were married  for 37 years until his death.

Remell accepted Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and devoted herself to Friendship AME Church, where she served as the President of the Pulpit Aid, a member of the Communion Committee, the Kitchen Committee, the Friendship AME Senior Choir, and the gospel group The Sensationals.

Remell had several jobs that she loved, but the most noted was Walmart, where she was employed for over 17 years.  Affectionately known as "Mel" or "Momma Mel" she became a mother figure to many of her co-workers and customers alike.

Anyone who knew Remell knew that she had a heart of gold.  She touched many lives and had several close friends whom she loved dearly.  She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as going to church, shopping, and socializing with her friends.  Her death has left many people  saying, "Lord, who am I going to talk to now?"  She will truly be missed.
Remell was preceded in death by her sister,  Mable Davidson; and two brothers, Mr. Patrick Graves Abraham and Mr. Clarence Abraham.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories two children:  Mr. Clifton Tyrone Bennett of Marion, SC and Tanya Bennett Brown (Bryant) of Atlanta, Ga; three grandchildren: Mr. Camry Bennett of Atlanta GA, Miss Zasha Bennett of Marion SC, and Mr. Jaylin Robinson of Atlanta GA; two brothers: Mr. Benny Abraham (Geneva) of Gresham, SC and Mr. John Hughes of East Windsor, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
