Rachel J. Furnace

Sister Rachel J. Furnace was 45, and departed this life Wednesday May 11, 2022 in Marion County. She was the mother of Anthony Furnace, Zavion Furnace and Rayshaud Furnace. You may visit the family at 603 Todd School Rd. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Friday May 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Jackson & Daughters Cemetery. 

~ Obituary ~

Ms. Rachel Furnace was born in Marion County to the late Gloria Jean Furnace Foxworth and the late Jerome Murphy on November 12, 1976. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her home in Marion, SC. 

She was the granddaughter of the late Luther Furnace Jr and Curllean Furnace. The late Johnny and Lucille Murphy and the great granddaughter of the late Robert Godbolt Sr. and Flossie Cross Godbolt.

Rachel was educated in Marion County Public Schools. She worked as a manager for Arby’s in Myrtle Beach, SC. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Jean Furnace Foxworth, and uncle, Michael Lee Furnace. 

Rachel leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ sons, Anthony “Andy” Furnace, Zavion “Zay” Furnace, and Rayshaud “Pork Chop” Furnace. CJ Reed, Desmond Reed, Keon and Jyrese Reed. Her grandmother, Curllean Furnace; brother, Michael Lavorious Furnace; Aunts, Valerie (John) Reed Mullins, SC. Lillian Murphy, Marion, SC. Dorothy Furnace, Marion, SC. Great Great Aunt: Beatrice Richardson, St. Petersburg, FL. Great Uncles: Robert (Virginia) Godbolt, Eddie (Harriet) Godbolt, Marion, SC; Ernest (Tonie) Godbolt, Mullins, SC. Great Aunts: Gladys (Charlie) Thompson, Marion, SC. Dallseater Thompson, Mullins, SC. Mardean (Ronald) Balloon, Mullins, SC. Almatean (Clifton), Flossie (Norzelle) Balloon, both of Marion, SC. A host of relatives, friends and a very special family friend, Kesha Howard who helped Valerie tremendously to care for her.

The family of Sister Rachel J. Furnace in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state, and local community,  will hold a 100 person or less funeral service for their loved one with interment immediately following. While the Furnace family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
