Odell Wilson (affectionately known as Bayboy to family and friends), age 80, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on January 2, 2021, in the Regency Rehabilitation Center, in Florence, South Carolina.

Odell was born on August 22, 1940 in the Wahee Community of Marion county, South Carolina. He was the youngest of four children. He was born to the late Rev. Susanna Grant and the late Rev. Oscar Grant.

Odell received his education though the public school system of Marion county. He learned many deferent trades, one of which was carpentry.

Odell worked for most of his adult life in the construction field. He was employed for many years by the Redden Smith Construction Company, where he built homes all over South and North Carolina. He was the primary builder of most of the homes in what we know as Huggins field.

Odell later went into business for himself as a sub-contractor, where he built homes for Alvin Newal construction, James Smith construction, Patrick Brady Construction and many more. He was well known as a master carpenter, and well respected.

Odell was brought up in the church. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of the Singletary AME Church, where he sang on the choir for some years. He loved his church and later used his carpentry skills to help in the renovation of the old Singletary AME Church.

Preceding him in death, his parents, Rev. Susanna (Wilson) Grant and Rev. Oscar Grant, siblings, CL Wilson, Iona Frazier, and Maxine Davis.

Odell met and married the late Susie M.
