Niesha Godfrey Obituary

Ms. Niesha De'Shema Godfrey was 26, and departed this life on Sunday August 9, 2020 in Marion County. She was the daughter of Sharon Godfrey and Michael Robinson. You may visit the family at 912 Gold St. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park on Saturday August 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at St. James AME Church Cemetery, Marion. The family will provide a guest list of 50 or less people. The services will be live stream in the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. 

~ Obituary~ 

Niesha Desheme Godfrey was born on July 8, 1994 to Sharon Godfrey and Michael Robinson in Mullins South Carolina. On August 9,2020 she was suddenly taken from us. 

Niesha Godfrey also known as Ni-Ball-Hard attended Creek Bridge at an early age and later attended Mullins High School where she joined the JV and Varsity Basketball team. She was a member of Perfect Peace Ministry and played the drums at an early age. Her passion was basketball and that is where she gained her nickname. She warmed hearts with good energy and great vibes. 

Niesha was preceded in death by her 2 late aunts Sharon Denise Godfrey and Mary Joyce Walker of Mullins, SC, late grandmother Mary Helen Robinson of Mullins SC, and 1 brother the late Quinton Godfrey of Mullins SC. 

Niesha leaves two special kids to cherish her memories: Sha’Niya Reaves and Kingstyn Grant  both of Mullins, SC. Her mother Sharon Godfrey, her grandmother Gladys Godfrey, grandfather L.H. Stackhouse of Mullins SC. Her father Michael Robinson, Grandfather Jackie Robinson, and stepfather William Page. Four sisters: Tenisha Godfrey, Tamersa Garner, Marquisha Davis, Jalaya Jones, all from Mullins SC. One stepsister Courtney Williams of Centenary SC. 

Six brother: Williams Godfrey, Sa’Quan Godfrey, Omarion Page, Michael Robinson Jr., Chantler Jones all from Mullins SC and Jymere Robinson of Greenville, North Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A special friend Janadra Grant. 

The family of Ms. Niesha De'Shema Godfrey, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the  Godfrey family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
