OBITUARY

Minnie Lee was born on December 13th, 1935 to James and Rebecca Nicholson (Sweeney) in Pee Dee, South Carolina.  After their deaths, she and her beloved sister, Isadora, who preceded her in death, were raised by their late aunt Hannah Jane McKnight. Minnie Lee attended school in Marion, SC and worked as a dietician at Marion Memorial Hospital. In the mid-50s, she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she met her husband, John Henry Stubbins, who preceded her in death. From their union, they had three children; her adored first born, Annette Stubbins , of Orange, NJ, her cherished only son, Gregory Stubbins ,of Marion, SC, and her darling baby daughter, Rhonda Marie Stubbins White, of Los Angeles, CA.

Minnie Lee is described by many as a fun-loving, comedic and honest individual. She played the piano by ear and was an amazing cook. She would spend her leisure time either reading the newspaper, solving puzzles, cooking magnificent meals, or talking on the phone. She loved gospel music and enjoyed listening to good preaching on the radio. Her favorite color is purple.

She is survived by her children, as well as her grandchildren: Erica Monique Harris (Gregory), Gregory Stephon Johnson (Gregory) and Lillie Rebecca Barber (Annette) and  great-grandchildren: Rashema Jasmin Clarke,  Kayla Janae Harris, Maurice Elijah Harris, Stephon Johnson, Brice Johnson, Brielle Johnson and Analia Johnson, as well as a host of devoted family and friends. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 of a heart attack at age 82.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Freddie Barber, Jr., Melinda Collins,
