Michael Kevin Thompson

Brother Michael Thompson was 49, and departed this life Thursday March 18, 2021 in Whiteville, NC. He was the father of Michael Berry and Michael Thompson, the son of Nesbit Isreal. 

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Greater Singletary AME Church Cemetery Thursday March 25, 2021at 11:00 am. Services will be live streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Michael Kevin Thompson 49, departed this life on Thursday March 18, 2021 at his home in North Carolina. He was born on July 8, 1971 in Marion, South Carolina to Nesbit Isreal Sr. and the late Annie Ruth Thompson.

He attended the Marion County Public Schools. Michael worked in the construction field and he was a “Jack of all trades” and always had a story to tell to make you laugh. Michael loved playing softball and going to the racetrack.

He was preceded in death by his brother Yomi Sindab, and his aunt Catherine Grant. 

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his wife Nicole Bellamy of North Carolina, two sons Michael (Bria) Berry, Michael Thompson Jr., and one daughter Zanovia Thompson, two stepchildren Brianna Swinton and Ti’asia Swinton. Two grandchildren Ta’Mari Berry and Jaylon Berry. Nine sisters: Laura McCullough, Rogertsina (Carl) Phillips, Debra (Richard) Pope, Shelonda (Jason) Legette, Mary Wilson, Tasha Sindab, Chimaki Moody, Lynette Ransom and Stacey Wilson. Seven brothers: Roger McCullough, Nesbit (Sabrina) Isreal Jr., Donald (Brenda) Isreal, Max Sindab, Johnny Sindab and Johnell Sindab. One special aunt Mary Lee Phillips, one special uncle Malichia Finklea (Uncle Butch), Ms. Bonnie Flower one whom he thought very highly of. Michael had three close friends who was like brothers: Anthony Lester, John Lester, and Don Dingle. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. 

The family of Brother Michael Thompson in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Thompson family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
