Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the H.L Jackson Memorial Park on Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest at the New Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery, Sellers, SC. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Lisa Patrice James Adams departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was born on August 25, 1971 in Marion County, South Carolina to Wayne Jerome Godfrey Sr. and the late Cotella James.
Lisa was educated in the Marion County Public Schools in Marion, South Carolina. She was a certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed at various Centers and Hospitals, but her last employment was Presbyterian Agency for Developmental Disabilities in Florence, South Carolina.
Lisa loved taking care of people, she was a peoples’ person and loved talking with them. She joined the Greater Highway Church of Christ in Marion, South Carolina under the leadership of the late Bishop R. F. Davis Sr. Later, she joined the True Faith Deliverance Temple in Florence, South Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Levester Williams Sr. Lisawas baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. She served on the ushers’ ministry and she had a positive influence on the life of everyone she came in contact with. Lisa loved smiling and hugging people.
Lisa was preceded in death along with her mother; her grandmothers: Maggie Mae James and Roberta Godfrey; brothers: Shannon Godfrey; aunts: Marie James and Susan Smith; a special uncle she loved and cared for: Julius Ivan James; brothers-n-law: Cleveland Adams and Lenneau Adams and a sister-n-law: Alberta Adams.
Lisa leaves to cherish her legacy and fond memories ~ her loving husband: Daniel Adams of the home; one son: Antonio (Latisha) James of Conway, SC; her loving parents: Pastor Wayne {Rosa} Godfrey Sr. of Louisiana; step-mom: Doris {James} Stidham; step-children: Ssgt: Donovan Eaddy and Malcolm Adams, Natasha Coaufield all of Killeen, TX; four brothers: Daniel {Janice} James, Tyrone Godfrey of Charlotte, NC, Steven {Rebecca} Godfrey, Wayne J. Godfrey Jr.; a sister: Shahara {Ramel} Handy; a step sister: Cassandra {Jamarious} Wilson; three sisters-n-law: Sharon Adams, Cecial Johnson, Nicole Adams; brother-n-law: William C. Johnson; special aunts: Joyce Ann Godfrey, Lillie Mae James, Peggy Jean Robinson all of Marion, SC; three grandchildren whom she loved dearly: McKayla James, Kiyanna White and Alexandra Eaddy; her special uncles: Leroy {Barbara} James, Mitchell {Verna} James, Elder Larry {Nancy} James, Kent James, George {Polite} Godfrey; a special cousin: Daniel James Sr.; her god-daughters: Mae Benson and Jessica Adams; god-sons: Terrell Davis and Ryan Nichols; her special friends: Mazie Hughes, Eunice Bell and Wendy Nichols and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of Sister Lisa Patrice James Adams in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 100 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Adams family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
