Lillie Foxworth Obituary

Mother Lillie K. Foxworth was 95, and departed this life Tuesday March 7, in Marion County. She was the mother of Annie Mae Rowell. You may visit the family at 1403 Bobby L. Davis Blvd.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday March 19, at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Rowell Cemetery, Marion.

~ Life Reflections ~

Lillie B. King-Foxworth affectionately known by her family as “Mou or Mother”, was born December 19, 1928, in Marion, South Carolina to the late Mrs. Marsena (Colin) Fletcher. She was raised by Mrs. Rosa Spry. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Mrs. Lillie B. attended Public Schools in Marion, SC. She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, and cooking. She had a great personality and was a giver at heart. She loved children and didn’t mind helping those she could. Her favorite songs to sing around the house: “O Jonah, Go Down to Nineveh to Serve the Lord” “Hold to His Hands, God’s Unchanging Hands” “It’s Gonna Rain…God showed Noah, showed him a rainbow sign, won’t be water but fire next time.” She loved her family and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Colin (Stepfather) and Mrs. Marsena Fletcher and Mrs. Rosa Spry; her husbands: Willie Lee King and Rev. Walker Foxworth; her brothers General Lee“Sunny Boy” Fletcher, “Uncle Willie” Spry, “Uncle James” Spry “Uncle Moses” Spry and “Uncle Henry” Spry; nephew Reginald “Reggie” Barnes and niece Gloria Jean Spry; loving daughter Bertha Mae “Pig” Haynes and granddaughter Mary Thomas.

Mrs. Lillie B. King-Foxworth leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter Annie Mae Rowell of Marion, South Carolina; her sister, Rosa Lee Barnes of Marion, South Carolina; grandson, Derrick (Jeannette) Rowell of Marion, South Carolina; granddaughters: Jackie Anderson, Kecia Coleman, and Karen Bell of Marion, SC, De’Angela Haynes of Pembroke, NC and Donna Haynes of Columbia, SC; nephew Cedric Barnes; nieces Yvonna James and Tonya Barnes of Marion, SC, Cynthia (Mark) Allison of Columbia, SC; grandchildren: Tashiecia (Bryan) Reed of Florence, SC, Ja’Colgan (Bria) Mack of Marion, SC, Joshua (Ariel) Robinson of Conway, SC, Shanequa (Marque) Berry of Darlington, SC, Timothy Bell and Benton Coleman of Marion, SC, Megan (David) Fields of Charleston, SC, and Monica Rowell of Marion, SC; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving relatives and friends.
