~Obituary~

Mrs. Lillie Reaves Cooper, the daughter of the late Caston and Rebecca E. Reaves, was born on November 18, 1932 in Marion, South Carolina.  She peacefully slept away on Wednesday Morning January 30, 2019.

Lillie received her education in Marion County, where she played on the school’s basketball team.   She was a factory worker and house keeper for many years.  Before her health declined in the year 2000, she also worked as a Home Health Care Giver. Lillie loved to fish. She was kind and loving. She said what she meant and meant what she said.

Lillie was a faithful member of Greater Fork Chapel AME Church for over 60 years.  She sung on the Choir and held the office of Church Secretary for many years.

Lillie was married to the late Johnny Owens Cooper.  All her sibling has proceeded her in death.

Mom, Aunt Lillie, leaves to cherish her loving and lasting memories, her children: Deloris (Harry) Weaver, Sumter, SC and Johnny Gene Cooper of the home.  One Grandson that she helped raise, Jonathan Wayne Cooper, Marion SC, three Great Grand Children, Justice, Joslyn and Jonate Cooper all of Marion, SC.  Two sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Evelyn Reaves of Marion, SC.  A loving host of very special nieces and nephews who kept a very watchful eyes on her during her illness.

Mom how can we say good-by when we don’t want you to go. You told us you were tired, we say okay. But we were praying “Dear God please just another day”.  You stayed as long as you could holding on just for us.  Always in charge and giving instructions you taught us to stay together, love one another never ever fuss.

As we would leave your bed side every day, you’d always share your favorite phrase. “Love ya, be careful and DON’T FORGET TO PRAY. God has taken away our only leaning post, but you taught us that God would never let up fall.  Your favorite phrase will stay with us for evermore.
