Brother Lee Roy Britt was 66, and departed this life Saturday October 17, 2020 in Florence County. He was the husband of Mary Frances Powell.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Saturday October 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Lee Roy Britt was born on January 18, 1954 to the late Mary and Alonizir Bond in Edenton, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Florence, South Carolina.
He attended Job Corp for his education. Leroy was married to Mary Frances Powell on October 14, 1996. He was a member of Monumental Faith Ministries under the leadership of Elder Terry McZeke and was long time devoted member to his church. He worked with New South Lumber Company in Conway, South Carolina back in the late 70’s, and later worked with the City of Marion Sanitation Department for many years where he retired.
Lee Roy was a long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team; and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved going to church and listening to gospel music.
Lee Roy was preceded in death along with his parents, Mary and Alonizir Bond; a sister-n-law: Lannie Israel and a brother-n-law: Joseph Israel.
Lee Roy leaves to cherish his loving memories ~ his wife: Mary Frances Powell of the home; his children: Barbara Ann Powell, Cathy Powell, William H. {Cherelle} Powell Jr. of Dillon, SC, Georgia Britt, Daryl Boatwright, Timothy Britt, Kathy Britt all of Marion, SC; a nephew: Harlow Timmons of the home; a grandson: Reggie Narciso of the US Army; sisters: Geneva Britt, Emma Britt, Tenna Britt, and Elizabeth Britt all of Edenton, NC; brother-n-law: Willie Moody of Marion, SC and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family of Brother Lee Roy Britt, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Britt family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
