Julius James Obituary

Brother Julius Ivan James was 64, and departed this life Monday June 1, 2020 in Dillon County. He was the brother of Lillie James.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Friday June 5, 2020 at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at the Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery, Sellers. The family will provide a guest list of 50 or less people. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Julius Ivan James was born on April 6, 1956 to the late Julius (Maggie Mae) James of Sellers, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life and entered into a new life on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:30 pm at McLeod Dillon Health, Dillon, South Carolina.

Julius attended Marion-Dillon Board of Disabilities and Special Needs in Marion where he loved attending on a regular basis.

Julius accepted Christ earlier in life and joined Marion Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. He later joined New Greater Deliverance Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed in 2013.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories~ two sisters: Lillie Mae James and Peggy Jean Robinson both of Marion, SC: four brothers: Leroy (Barbara) James, Larry (Nancy) James, Mitchel (Verna) James and Kent (Barbara) James all of Marion, SC: two special people in his life, his private nurse: Lisa (Daniel) Adams; his very own unpaid barber: Daniel James; his brothers and sisters in the Miles’ family: Pete & Odell Miles, sisters: Jean Cooper and Tonette Graves, he loved all of you. 

Julius cherished the many friendships he made throughout his life and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family of Brother Julius Ivan James , in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the James family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
