Josephine Pee Obituary

Mother Josephine Reed Pee was 80, and departed this life on Tuesday March 10, 2020 in Florence County. You may visit the family at 5403 Fulton Rd. Centenary. She was the wife of Hayward Pee and the mother of Sinclair Pee. 

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Centerville Missionary Baptist Church on Monday March 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery. 

~ Obituary ~

Josephine “Skitter” Reed Pee, daughter of the late Mr. Allen Reed Sr. and the late Daisy Pee Reed was born on June 29, 1939 in Centenary, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

Josephine was educated in the public schools of Marion County, and was a graduate of Terrell’s Bay High School. She also held the crown of Miss Terrell’s Bay High School for that year. Upon graduation she moved to Patterson, New Jersey. She married the love of her life Elder Hayward Pee, Jr. into that union her son Sinclair W. Pee was born. She returned to South Carolina where she was a staple in the community. She worked at Terrell’s Bay High School in the cafeteria until her retirement.

Throughout her life she was a hard worker including her church life. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a faithful member at Centerville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a willing worker where she served as the Usher Board President, a choir member, the kitchen supervisor, a faithful bible study member and most of all a Mother to the church family. 

Those left to cherish her fond memories are her loving and devoted husband, Elder Hayward Pee, Jr. of Centenary, her son; Sinclair W. Pee of Rains, SC, four sisters; Drunella Tennie, Lucinda Reed, Ellen Rowell and Rose Reed all of Centenary, SC. One brother; David Richardson, of Centenary, SC, one sister-in-law Angelia Pee Williams of Centenary. She leaves the fond memories to the grand-children, great grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
