Mother Johnsie Mae Davis was 91, and departed this life Sunday January 10, 2021 in Marion County.
Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Tabernacle AME Church Cemetery on Saturday January 16, 2021 at 3:00 pm.

Mrs. Johnsie Mae Morton Davis began her life on Wednesday, July 31, 1929 in Rockingham, NC when she was born to the late Blanche and Holly Morton. She departed her earthly life on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Medical University of South Carolina of Marion in Mullins, SC.
Upon returning to South Carolin, Johnsie became a member of Tabernacle AME Church of the Tabernacle Community. She was employed at SoPacko for several years until retirement. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late William Davis. This lion was blessed with one child. She enjoyed going church wither sister and family. She really enjoyed tehcompany of her grandchildren. Johnsie was a person who always carried a smile.
Jonhsie lived for 91 years, 5 month, 10 days, 23 hours and 49 minutes. The Lord saw fit to call her home to be with those who had gone on before her. This would include her parents, 7 siblings and 1 granddaughter.
Precious memories of her will be cherished by her beloved son: Herbert Davis of the home; grandchildren: Pamela Davis, Herbert (Mary) Davis and a special grandchild who she raised as her own: Mark Davis; one sister: Irene Dewitt all of Marion,SC and a host of nice nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family of Mother Johnsie Mae Davis, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state, and the local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Davis family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
