John Moore Obituary

Bro. John Moore was 77, and departed this life Tuesday January 12, 2021 in Marion County. He was the husband of Mary Thompson Moore and the father of Ricky Kent, Henry Moore, John Moore, Sherman Moore and Marilyn Moore .

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Beachfield Cemetery at 2:30 pm Saturday January 23, 2021. Services will be live streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Mr. John Henry Moore entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center of Mullins, South Carolina. He was born in Marion County, South Carolina on August 1, 1943 to the late Johnnie and Gertrude Moore.

He was educated in the Bethel School System, Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. At an early age, he became affiliated with Bethel  AME Church, Britton’s Neck, South Carolina.

He was joined in holy wedlock to Mary Alice Moore.

Three siblings and one child preceded him in death:  Albert Lee Moore (brother), James Lee Moore (brother) ,Mary Bacchus (sister) and Jennifer Moore (daughter). 

John leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories, his loving wife: Mary Alice Moore;  one daughter : Marilyn Moore of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina; four sons: Ricky (Debra) Kent of Conway, South Carolina, John (Marie) Moore of Charlotte , North Carolina, Henry (Thomasenia) Moore of Atlanta, Georgia  and Sherman Moore of Conway, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, grand/great grandchildren and loving friends.

The family of Bro. John Moore in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Moore family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
