Jennifer Raysor Obituary

Jennifer Deon Raysor, age 41, departed this life on January 15, 2021, in the Medical University of South Carolina - Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of Janice and the late George Raysor, and the mother of Janique and Jaia Raysor all of Rains, SC. Services are scheduled for Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 12 noon at the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park in Marion, SC. Interment will be made in the New Graveyard, Rains, SC. 

~ Obituary ~ 

Jennifer Deon “J.LO” Raysor was born May 30th, 1979 in Marion South Carolina to Janice Raysor and the late George Raysor. She entered into eternal rest after a life long fight at MUSC Charleston with her two daughters by her side.

Jennifer was a strong fighter of sickle cell disease. She also faced many health problems including 2 brain aneurysms, liver and kidney failure. Despite her issues with sickle cell she was always a strong fighter. 

Jennifer matriculated through the Marion County School system and graduated from Terrell’s Bay High School in 1997. Upon graduation she later became a phlebotomy technician as her health permitted. She attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College until her health no longer permitted her to do so. 

Jennifer started her Christian Journey at New Life Holiness Church and later became a member of Canaan Land Revival Temple where she got saved under the leadership of Bishop and Pastor Mckelvy.

Jennifer was very family oriented and loved any chance she got to spend with them, especially holidays.

Jennifer was proceeded in death by her father George Raysor and a special friend Fredrick Woodberry.

Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Janique Raysor and Jaia Raysor both of Marion County, her mother Janice Raysor,  her siblings, Cynthia (Alan) Whitney, Melissa (Lowell) Manning of Florence, SC. Cpt. Maurice  (Lt. Colonel Yolanda) Leonard of Ft. Lee, VA. Ainsworth (Crystal) Leonard of Florence, SC. George Jason (Ronneshia) Raysor of Fayetville, NC. A host of half brothers and sisters, Nieces and Nephews , Tia, Torey, Shakayla, Cyntheia, Calayia, Jada, Aaden, Mykell, Omari, Jayden, My’Asia, My’Kayla, Chance, and Abri. Along with a host of other nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces and nephews, Sa’Quan (Flash) and Journey. Her aunts and Uncles, Frances Dunkin, Clara Bell Bennett, Peter (Nadine) Leonard of Washington, DC. Lillian Raysor, Julius Raysor both of Sellers, SC. A special cousin Tregina Dunkin, along with a host of other loved relatives.

Jennifer was a well known and loved person by many. Her friends are too numerous to name but it is known that they all loved her and all whom will miss her dearly.

The family of Sister Jennifer Raysor, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state, and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Raysor family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
