Jennifer Brown Obituary

Sister Jennifer Brown was 58, and departed this life Monday March 28, 2022 at her home in Mullins. She was the mother of Elijah Gurley, Jasper Gurley, Westley Gurley, Sandy Gurley, Josh Avant, Shafone Knowlin and Tatayana Knowlin, the fiance' of John Knowlin. You may visit the family at 432 Willie Hodge Rd. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Friday April 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at St. James AME Church Cemetery, Ariels Crossroad. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Jennifer Brown 58 was born on ???? She was the daughter of the late JC and Janie C. Brown. She departed this earthly life on Monday, March 28, 2022 at her residence in Mullins, South Carolina.

Jennifer attended the public schools in lower Marion County, Terrell’s Bay High School in Centenary, South Carolina.  She was a member of Mount Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church, Marion, South Carolina.

Jennifer was like a mother to many. If you were hungry she fed you, if you needed a place to stay she would put a roof over your head. She was such a nice woman, maybe even too nice. Everybody wanted a plate from “Mama Jenny.” we love you Mama Jenny and will miss you!!!

Preceding Jennifer in death, her siblings: Rose Marie Davis and Norman Brown.

Jennifer leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ her children: Tatayana Knowlin, Elijah Gurley, Jasper Gurley, Westley Gurley, Sandy Gurley, Tocara Cantey, Joshua Avant, Shafone Knowlin; her grandchildren: Rakyah Mason, Eli Gurley, Elisha Gurley, Blessings Avant, Mila Gurley, Sanaria, Jeremiah Reed; her fiance': John Knowlin; her siblings: JC {Shirley} Brown, Gladys Lewis, Sylvia {Ernest} Mickens, Teresa {William} Conners, Junior, Esse and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Sister Jennifer Brown in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Brown family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
