Bro. James Earl Johnson, 46, departed this life on Saturday June 9, 2018 in Florence County. He was the husband of Caticia Johnson. You may visit the family at 301 Cattle Farm Rd. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethlehem AME Church, Rains Friday June 15, 2018 at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest in the New. Graveyard Cemetery, Marion.

~Obituary~

James Earl Johnson, affectionately known as “8-Ball” was born on October 6, 1971 to the late Howard Holliday and Annie Ruth (Johnson) Austin. He departed this earthly life Saturday June 9, 2018 in the Carolina Hospital System of Florence South Carolina.

James attended the public schools of Dillon County. He was employed with Causeys Flooring for over twenty years, James loved his job. He loved the whole Causeys family, who was by his side through his tuff times. He later moved to Marion South Carolina where he later met the love of his life, his wife, Caticia Crawford Johnson.

James confessed Christ in the year 2011 and attended Bethlehem AME Church, Rains, South Carolina. He loved cooking, grilling and working. Even though he resided in Marion County, he let it be known the he was a fan of the Dillon Wildcat football team.

James was not only a very dedicated and devoted husband, but also a loving and caring son, father, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and a friend to many. Just like Chris Woodberry said “If you did not get to meet and know 8-Ball, you missed out.”

James was preceded in death by his parents; Howard Holliday, Annie Ruth (Johnson) Austin, Robert Johnson and best friend/cousin; Ricky Boatwright.

James leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to his loving wife: Caticia Johnson of Marion South Carolina, to their union they cherished four children, his daughter Jamya Johnson of Columbia South Carolina, three sons; Jhyquiez Woodberry, Kycheiym Crawford, Kavon Richardson all of the home. He never stopped loving and caring for one other stepson; Craig Ellerbe and stepdaughter; Keyonia Spears of Columbia South Carolina, five sisters; Annie McCollum (Marcus) of Dillon County, Maggie Green (Carlous) of Rowland North Carolina, Diane Holliday of Dillon South Carolina, Mary Bethea of Marion South Carolina, Clara Stackhouse of Washington, DC. Five brothers; Ronnie Johnson (Connie) of Darlington, South Carolina, Robert Johnson, Timothy Johnson both of Kansas, Howard Holliday, Danny Carmichael (Latisha) all of Dillon South Carolina, Derrick Carmichael of Fayetteville North Carolina, a very special grandmother; Annie Ruth Bethea, one special friend Lee Jackson. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
