Illison Sparks

Mother Illison Sparks was 87, and departed this life Saturday February 10, 2021 in Florence County. She was the mother of Clara Sparks. You may visit the family at 3115 Sleighride Road, Marion.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Tabernacle AME Church Cemetery on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 11:00 am. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. 

~ Obituary ~

Ms. Illison Sparks (Illinois) was born August 25, 1933 in Marion, South Carolina to the late Eli Sparks and Evelina Robinson Sparks of Marion, S.C.

She departed the life on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in MUSC of Florence, South Carolina. 

Ms. Illison is survived by one daughter Clara Sparks and one grandson Jamaris Sparks of Marion, SC. One son preceded her in death, Mr. Billy Sparks. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Ms. Illison loved her westerns tv shows, and especially “In the Heat of the Night”. 

She worked on numerous farms; and enjoyed gardening and raising chickens until her health failed.

She left her presence wherever she went and memories of her will last a lifetime for the ones who knew and loved her.

The family of Mother Illison Sparks in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Sparks family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
