Harristine Hammonds Obituary

Sister Harristine Hammonds was 79 and departed this life on Friday, June 26. She was the mother of Renee Hammonds Grant, LaVeria Hammonds Wilson, and Kevin and Keith Hammonds. Please visit her family at 706 Gibson Street in Marion and kindly observe COVID-19 restrictions.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park on Friday July 3, 2020 at 2:30 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Devotion Gardens Cemetery. The family will provide a guest list of 50 or less people. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Harristine Hammonds, the beloved daughter of Eleanora “Ted” Hammonds was born July 3, 1940 on Marion, SC. Harristine Hammonds completed her earthly assignment on June 26, 2020 at MUSC in Marion, SC.

Harristine was educated at Marion County Training School in Marion, SC. Harristine was a member of the Class of 1958.

At an early age, she joined Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and officer serving as a Layperson, Member of the Usher Board, Choir member and other various within the United Methodist Church.

Harristine was employed by Russell Stover Candies, Amana, ABB, Marion County Council on Aging until her retirement.

Harristine was predeceased by: her mother: Eleanora Hammonds; her sister: Martha Maxwell; her brother: Robert “Bobby” Hammonds and her beloved Ggandson: Demetrick Maurice “Reecy” Hammonds.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories: her Children: Renee P. (Howard) Grant, Keith L. (Jacqueline) Hammonds, Sr., Kevin R. Hammonds and Laveria H. Wilson all of Marion, SC; her Grandchildren: Jamarious, Keith L. Jr., Joshua, Cory, Kingsley, and Kyorry; her Great-Grands: Jki’ Yonn, Jki’ Shonn, Ryan, Levi, Kamonty, Kamonie, Zyveria; her Siblings: Elyse Haver and Willie Mae Hammonds of New York; Mary Johnson of Baltimore, Md.; her Sister-in-law: Frances Hammonds of Memphis, Tenn.; a special niece reared in the home: Patsy Finklea Ballentine along with Monique H. Caesar and Curtis Finklea (Deceased); her “5th” child: Lisa Seabrook: a faithful friend, church member and confidant Fannie M. Mason; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as other family members.
