Mother Goldan Ann Woodberry was 81, and departed this life Saturday October 17, 2020 in Marion County. She was the mother of Gary Woodberry.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Old Neck Cemetery, Britton's Neck on Friday October 23, 2020 at 2:30 pm

~ The Obituary ~

Ms. Goldan “Ann” Woodberry departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center located in Marion, S.C.

She was born in Britton’s Neck, S.C. on March 6, 1939 to the late Jimmy and Bessie Gause.

At an early age, Goldan accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Britton’s Neck, S.C.

After over 30 years of employment; Goldan retired from Russell Stover Candies of Marion, S.C.

Goldan was joined in holy matrimony to the late, Rollie “Jack” Woodberry. To this union; three children were born.  Two of which were daughters, Marcella and Stella Woodberry; whom both preceded her in death. Goldan was also preceded in death by one brother, James Gause.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, one son, Gary (Samantha) Woodberry; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorine Woodberry and Ella (Isaiah) Barr of Britton’s Neck, S.C.; two brothers, Pearlie Gause of Norfolk, V.A. and Daniel Gause of Britton’s Neck, S.C.;  four in-laws: Major Woodberry of Brooklyn, N.Y., Nazane Self, Willie Woodberry, and Rev. Ernell (Rose) Woodberry all of Gresham, S.C.; a special niece raised like her own, Sharlandra Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. 

The family of  Mother Goldan Ann Woodberry in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the family Woodberry would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
