George Washington Gause Jr.

Brother George Washington Gause Jr. was 74 and departed this life Wednesday October 18, in Florence County. He was the husband of Vertell Gause, the father of Linda Arrington (Scottie), George Gause III (Debora), bonus children Tyrone Crawford (Katy), Rochelle McFarland (Lynn) and Teheasha Crawford. You may visit the family at 611 W. Mullins St. Marion on Wednesday October 25 and Thursday October 26, between the hours of 1:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Door of Hope Christian Church, Marion on Friday October 27, at 3:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

George Washington Gause Jr. was born on February 20, 1949, in Bayboro, South Carolina to the late George Gause and Nettie Graham of South Carolina.

~ A Time to Grow ~

George Gause Jr. moved to Marion, SC in 1991. He was known as a hard-working provider for his family. He retired as a Sanitation Maintainer in 2012. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend. His greatest passion was helping others through his vast knowledge and experience in a Christian Lifestyle. He could always be caught reading or reciting scriptures.

He joined The Door of Hope Christian Center in 1991 and was faithful to his security post. The joy of the Lord truly was his lifetime testimony. He loved his Pastors and his church family.

George was united in marriage to Vertell Gause on July 1, 1996.

~ A Time to Die ~

George gently closed his eyes and heard well done thy good and faithful servant. His transition came on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Florence, South Carolina.

~ A Time to Mourn ~

God gave us a priceless and wonderful gift. We will always remember him. He was the father of Linda Arrington (Scottie) of Jacksonville NC, George Gause III (Debora) Las Vegas, Nevada, and bonus children Tyrone Crawford (Katy) of Marion, Rochelle McFarland (Lynn) of Marion and Teheasha Crawford of Marion; three grandchildren Adriana Durant, Christian Miner, Geovahni Gause, and seven bonus grandchildren JaJuan Finklea, LaNisha Evans, LaNiiyah Evans, Se'Qwan McFarland, Ashanta McFarland, Kenneshea Tatum, Zious Kennerson, bonus great grandchildren La’Raiyah Mabon, Olivia Ayala and Greyson McFarland, two sisters Jessie Gerald and Halestine Gerald both of Raleigh, North Carolina, a spiritual brother Jake James, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

His family members that preceded him in death were two brothers Carlton Gerald and Andrew Gerald and one Aunt Sarah Jane Nichols.
