Flora Mae Willis

Mother Flora Mae Willis was 82, and departed this life Friday March 10, 2023 in Horry County. She was the wife of London Willis. You may visit the family at 1836 West Ridge Blvd. Conway.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel AME Church, Britton's Neck on Monday March 20, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Beachfield Cemetery, Britton's Neck.

Flora Mae Willis heard the gentle whispers of the Lord calling her home, and she took His hand and left us on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Flora Mae Willis was born May 24, 1940 to the late Henry Woodberry and Jannie C. Woodberry Graves in Marion County, South Carolina.  She was preceded in death by a two sisters, her twin Dosia Moore, and  Annette Woodberry Wilder , three brothers Troy Graves, Oscar Graves and Daniel Woodberry.

Flora Mae was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church prior to her moving to Norfolk, Virginia in 1964.  She accepted Christ at a young age and kept her faith throughout life.  She returned to the Bethel A.M.E in 2000, when her health permitted.  Flora Mae attended schools in Brittons Neck and Rains.  She was employed by Prestige Springs and the City of Norfolk.

Those left to cherish her memories are her devoted husband of sixty-four years:   London Willis; her daughter Charlie Willis; and her son Brian Willis all of the home.  Two sisters, Hattie Gagum of Conway, Lizzie Jenkins of Cocoa Florida, Three brothers, Paul Graves (Phoenix ) of Brittons Neck, Johnny Graves (Charlene) of Brittons Neck and Lester Graves, (Theresa) of Melbourne, Florida;  a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
