Fannie Cooper-Thomas Obituary

Mother Fannie Mae Cooper Thomas was 85, and departed this life on Wednesday August 12, 2020 in Florence County. She was the aunt of Sarah Evans.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Springville United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday August 17, 2020 at 11:00 am. The family will provide a guest list of 50 or less people.

 Mrs. Fannie Thomas

Fannie Thomas was born April 26, 1935 to the late Mr. Ruben and Mrs. Mary Cunningham Cooper of Kingstree, South Carolina. As God would see fit Fannie departed this life on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House.

Fannie attended the public schools of Marion County. Later in life she relocated to East Orange, New Jersey where she was united in holy matrimony to the late Robert Thomas.

Fannie was self-employed in East Orange, New Jersey.

Fannie accepted Christ into her life at an early age, and joined Springville United Methodist Church. After spending 45 years in East Orange, New Jersey she later returned back to Marion in 1998, where she continued her membership as of active member of Springville United Methodist Church until her health failed.

Fannie was preceded in death by four brothers: Allen, Lucius, Felder, and Ben. Three sisters: Emma, Louvenia, Ella.

Fannie leaves to cherish her loving memories: one special niece, Sarah(Lewis) Evans, Marion, South Carolina; two special great nieces: LaSandra Evans of Marion, South Carolina, LaTisha(Darren) McClam of Florence, South Carolina; Three special great-great nieces: LaNisha Evans of the home, LaNiiyah Evans of Marion, South Carolina, Darralyn McClam of Florence, South Carolina; one special great-great nephew Darrius McClam of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

The family of Mother Fannie Mae Cooper Thomas, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Thomas family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
