Eva Davis Obituary

Mother Eva Davis was 92, and departed this life Thursday October 22, 2020 in Marion County. She was the mother of Annie Tart. You may visit the family at 436 E. Lowman St. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park, Sunday November 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the St. James AME Church Cemetery, Aerial Crossroad. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. 

~ Obituary ~

Mother Eva Bell Moody Davis was born December 25, 1927 to the late Reverend Charlie and Lizzie Moody and her step-mother, the late Nita Moody. Mother Davis departed her early life on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the home of Annie and Larry Tart, Mullins, SC.

Mother Eva was a faithful member at the House of God for many years. She later joined Everbee Missionary Baptist Church. There she served her lord and savior Jesus Christ in many ways including singing on the gospel choir.

Mother Davis was preceded in death by her husband the late Willie Monroe Davis; five sisters, six brothers. She was also preceded in death by four children: Jimmy Davis, Sammy Earl Davis, Henry Lee Davis and Jerome Davis and one grandchild: Joshua Mitchell. 

Mother Davis left to cherish her fond and loving memories to her children: Willie Jr. Davis, James (Betty) Davis both of Aynor, SC, Howard (Tammy) Davis of Latta, SC, Letha (Eric) Mitchell of Marion, SC, Annie (Larry) Tart of the home, Leroy (Cynthia) Davis, Christian (Phyllis) Davis, Laura and the late Anthony Fling,  all of Mullins, SC  and Kennedy (Veronica) Davis of Marion, SC. Others who have been left to live on with her legacy in crude her 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A special thank you to the care nurses, who cared for her: Bobbie Lee, Jere Woods, Bryce, Shannon Carter, Theresa Smith, Wanda James, Sydney Dubreviel, Glovann Gee, Allen Lych and Gregory woods. Two special nieces: Ruby Lewis and Rosa Saxon; One special nephew: Rev. Willie Lee Gillard; one son-in-law: Larry Tart and one special grandchild: Alicia Davis. 

The family of Mother Eva Davis, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Davis family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
