Erleese Woodberry Obituary

Mother Erlesse Foxworth Woodberry was 92, and departed this life Thursday April 8, 2021 in Marion County.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Henry L. Jackson Memorial Park on Sunday April 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the St. Timothy Baptist Church Cemetery, Wahee Community. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Erleese Foxworth (Smith). Woodberry was born on August 12, 1928 to the late Henry and Molly Havella Giles-Foxworth. Erleese entered eternal rest on Thursday April 8, 2021.

Mother Erleese was raised in Marion County, she was educated in the public school n Marion, South Carolina. In her earlier years, she worked at Heritage Sportswear, Russell Stover’s Candies, Marion County Council on Aging, Marion Nursing Home, and various sitting positions where she later retired.

Mother Erleese was devoted and faithful member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Marion, South Carolina since 1968. Where she served on the Senior Choir, attended regularly to Sunday School, and became the Mother of the Church on June 9, 2019.

Mother Erlesse Foxworth (Smith) Woodberry was preceded in death by her special love Ivory Campbell, first husband Richard Smith, second husband Clifton Woodberry. She also was preceded in death by her four brothers Robert, Lond, Henry and Warren, her sister Ella, daughter Bpbby Jean, and her three sons Clarence, Richard and Ronnie Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are; one sister Bernice White, Moncks Corner, SC; seven children; Doris Smith Clinton, Harold Lee Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Elizabeth Ann (Sarah) Smith, Janet Smith-Coles (Izzy) of Clinton Maryland, Karen Bethea of Moncks Corner, SC, Cheryl Abrams of Dillon, SC and Constance Abrams of Florence, SC; ten grandchildren Flissa McEachern (Freddie) of Marion, SC, Mark Rowell of Florence, SC, Harold Lee Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Juba Buey of Marion, SC, Charles L. Clinton (Detrice) of Darlington, SC, Clarence Smith (Cynthia) of Philadelphia, PA, Shondell Smith Williams of Ohio, Natalia Samuels (Rodney) of Florence, SC, Roderick Johnson of Washington, SC, Charletta Clinton-Glenn (Willie) of Marion, SC, Kyle Coles (Miesha) of White Plains, Maryland, Brandon Campbell (Sha’Bri) of Florida, Jessica Bethea of Moncks Corner, SC, Quisheka Lester and Alicia Richardson of Dillon, SC; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family of Mother Erlesse Woodberry in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Woodberry family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
