Brother Edward "Pap" Williams, Jr., 62, departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Columbia, SC.

Bro. Edward Williams, Jr. was the father of Mr. Carlos Johnson of Mullins, SC, and the brother of Ms. Eartha Williams Davis of Marion, SC. 

Bro. Edward Williams family will receive visitors at 121 Marshall Street, Marion, SC 29571.

Graveside services for Bro. Edward Williams Jr. will be held at the Williams Cemetery in Gresham, SC on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 2 pm. 

~Life Reflections~

In love and infinite wisdom, our Heavenly Father has released from all suffering and called unto that new and larger life, the gently spirit of this beloved, father, brother, uncle, and cousin.

Mr. Edward Williams, Jr., (Pap) son of the late Edward & Ruth Williams, Sr., was born July 30, 1957.  He entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2021 at Prisma Health, Columbia, SC.

Edward was loving, funny, and full of life.  He never met a stranger, welcomed everyone with open arms, and will always be remembered of his many reflections of love.  He was educated in the public schools of Marion County.   

Edward was preceded in death by Parents:  Edward & Ruth Williams, Sr., Maternal Grandparents:  Albert and Rosa (Obie) Davis; Paternal Grandparents:   Legrant & Georgia Williams; Sister:  Lonzena Davis; Brother:  George Lee Williams  

Edward leaves to cherish loving memories: one son:  Carlos Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC; one grandson:  Tyquan Buie of Marion, SC; one granddaughter:  Jordan Taylor Johnson of Winston Salem, NC; three sisters; Eartha W. Davis and Gennis Williams of Marion, SC, and Doris Flowers of Bloomfield, NJ.; one brother:  Jimmy Williams of Mullins, SC,; one niece:  Melissa Williams of Marion, SC; two nephews:  Erick(Tamia Williams) and Priest Williams of Marion, SC; three paternal Aunts:  Shirley Boatwright of Gresham, SC; Roxanne Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, and Eloise Graves of Britton’s Neck, SC; one maternal aunt:  Sally Henderson of Wheaton, MD; Special Friends:  Doretha Maxwell & Reatha Woodward of Columbia, SC.; Special Cousin:  Frances Graham of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit –Psalm 34:18

In consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state, and local community, the family of Bro. Edward Williams, Jr. has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Williams family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
