Obituary
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not ant.” Psalm 23:1
Earnest Salmon entered eternal rest on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Compass Nursing Home, Conway, South Carolina. He was born on January 5, 1935 to the late Richard and Sarah Salmon.
Earnest was educated in the Marion County public school system. He joined Soul Chapel AME Church at an early age. Earnest was a member of the male choir and attended church regularly until his health declined.
Earnest was employed by Wellman Industries for twenty years. He was a quiet man who always had a smile on his face. He never bothered anyone but observed others around him. He loved his family especially his nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris S. Fredrick, and brothers, Richard Jr. and John Henry Salmon.
Those left to cherish his fond and loving memories are two sisters: Louise S. Richardson and Diana (JK) Graves; one sister-in-law: Sarah Salmon-Arnold and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family of Father Earnest Salmon, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Salmon family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
