Sister Dorothea Alston was 65 and departed this life Wednesday June 22, 2022 in Florence County. She was the mother of Wayne Alston and Maya Alston.

This event is at the request of our beloved mother. We are celebrating the life and legacy of a great woman. We are asking for finger foods, drinks, desserts and/or paper products/utensils if you would like to contribute. Flowers should be a potted plant that can grow in shaded areas. They will be placed or potted by our family on the porch in front of her house. If you would like to make a donation to the family to help cover expenses, please send money via cash app to Maya Alston (843)289-2450. All donations will be appreciated. 
The family will be accepting visitors who wish to express condolences during the hours of 4p to 6p Monday June 27 thru Wednesday June 29th at 115 East Marion St. Mullins, SC. Thank you.  
 

The family of Sister Dorothea Alston in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state, and local community,  will hold a 100 person or less funeral service for their loved one with interment immediately following. While the Alston family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
