Sister Dollie Reed was 75, and departed this life Wednesday April 7, 2021 in Florence County. She was the mother of Shakimah Pollard, Shelia Reed, Russell Pollard, Jamar Pollard, Evette Woolridge, Jerry Pollard and Kenneth Williams. You may visit the family at 5304 Alice Ave. Centenary, SC.
Public viewing will be Wednesday April14, 2021, 12 noon-5pm.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Thursday April 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Dollie P. Reed was brown in Chesterfield Virginia on May 3, 1945. She was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Pollard. She departed this earthy life on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at MUSC Florence, SC after battling an illness.
The life of Dollie P. Reed was an extraordinary one. She as a loving hard working mother of six wonderful children, Dollie lived her life lead by “God” first and family second. She was always surrounded by family and friends laughing, cooking and most of all, she loved to dance at outdoor events, she was a very faithful member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended until her health failed.
Dollie was preceded in death by both parents; William and Bessie Pollard, husband; Hagood Reed Jr, daughter: Queen Pollard, one grandson; Jaquarius Faulk, sisters; Isolene Pollard, Kate Gibson and brothers; Ricci Pollard, Jerome Pollard, Lee Jones and Ronald Pollard.
Dollie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories- her children, Russell (Sheron) Pollard Centenary, SC, Jerry Pollard Saint Pauls, NC; Jamar Pollard Richmond Va and Kenneth (Carleen) Williams of Killeen Texas. Daughters; Shakimah Pollard of the home; Sheila Reed of Mullins SC; and Sonia (Suqie) Hernandez of Brooklyn NY. Five sisters- Regina Pollard, Darnell Pollard, Richmond Va, Mary Lee (Greg) Langhorne and Altonia Pollard Of Spartanburg, SC. and Gloria (Brooks) Studivant Chesterfield Va; one brother Donald Pollard- Eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grand-children. Two special friends Catherine Studivant of Chesterfield , Va and JoAnn Davis of Centenary SC. One special son-in-law Samuel Reed of Marion SC, three sister -in-laws; Mrs. Hazel Davis Mullins SC, Annie Reed and Willa Mae Fling Brooklyn NY. and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family of Sister Dollie Reed in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Reed family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
