~ A Celebration of Life ~

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Life is a journey unknown, we had little knowledge that her death was so near. She fought the fight, she kept the faith, and now she has gone home to God.

Deloris Ann Fogan Hamilton was born on June 11, 1951, in Marion, South Carolina, to George and Meritha Grice Fogan. She attended the public schools of Marion County, and graduated from Johnakin High School in 1970. In 1969 she married Milton E. Hamilton and to this union two children were born, Jalaunder Mechelle Hamilton and Milton E. Hamilton, Jr.

Ann as she was called by most, lived her life to the fullest and touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and remembered for her pleasant demeanor and beautiful smile. She was a long standing member of Greater Singletary A.M.E. Church and strongly believed in prayer and that “Prayer Changes Things”. She also dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great – grandmother and friend.

A strong believer in family, Ann is survived by her husband, Milton E. Hamilton of the home; two children Jalaunder Mechelle Hamilton of Marion, SC and Sergeant Major Milton E. (Kristin) Hamilton, Jr. of Augusta, Georgia; Four grandchildren: Chaule’ Hamilton and Michayla Hamilton of Fayetteville, NC, Khori Hamilton and Ashlin Bultran of Augusta, GA; one great great grandchild: Kaelyn (Flossie) Adams  of Fayetteville, NC; Four sisters: Shirley (Robert) Davis of Marion, SC, Kathleen Fogan Rose of Charlotte, NC, Renee (Chris) Dozier of New Braunfels, Texas, Daisy (Bobby) Bethea of Florence, SC; Five brothers: George E. Davis. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends complete this very special family.

Special recognition to her “Cougar” friends who were a significant part of her life: Ms. Sandra Peacock, Ms. Linda Muhammad, Ms. Willa Deen Hayes, Ms. Shirley Gurley, Ms. June Gilchrist, Mrs. Lucille Hayes and Mrs. Karen McFarland.
