Sister Coretta Lea Brown was 55, and departed this life Friday October 13, in Marion County. She was the mother of Felesha Brown Johnson and Melvin Brown, the daughter of Evangelist Annette Brown and the sister of Ann Brown. You may visit the family at 3104 Graham Court, Mullins (Rains Community).

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Saturday October 21, at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at New Graveyard Cemetery, Marion (Rains Community). Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Coretta Lea Brown, 55 years of age, departed this earthly life on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Medical University of South Carolina, Marion, South Carolina.

Coretta was born August 3, 1968 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Winnie Levern Brown and Evangelist Annette Graham Brown. She was the oldest of two children. At the age of 3 years old, Coretta relocated to Rains, South Carolina with her family.

Coretta received her education in the public schools of Marion County and attended Terrell’s Bay High School and was the Class of 1986.

Coretta was well known in the community and loved by her family and friends. She was a loving and caring person who loved to laugh and make everyone laugh. She enjoyed singing gospel music and playing the tambourine. Coretta would help anyone that she could and did not hesitate to help those who needed her.

Coretta leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: her mother, Evangelist Annette Brown of the home.  Two children: Felesha Anna Latesha Brown of Marion and Melvin Levern Brown of the home, One sister: Ann Denise Brown, Mullins, One Brother Willie Allen from St. George, SC. four aunts: Jannie Graham, Florence, Gloria (David) McNeil, Marion, Esther Eaddy, Rains, and Inez Moore, Brittons Neck, two uncles: Henry ( Ella) Graham, and Ishmel Graham, Marion, three grand children: TyQuan, Brycen, and Teegan, two great grandchildren: Arielle and Taylen: A special niece An’tyce, Nephew Jeremiah, Two special cousins Giles and Tyrus and a host of relatives and friends.
