Father Clyde William Alexander Jr. was 81, and departed this life Saturday January 2, 2021 in Florence County. He was the husband of Ola Williams-Alexander.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday January 7, 2021, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Clyde Williams Alexander, Jr 81 departed this life Saturday January 2, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. 

~ Obituary ~

He was born on June 4, 1939 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Christine and Clyde William Alexander, Sr. he later moved to New Jersey, where he attended school. After high school, he then joined the Air Force where he served one term. After returning home he met and married Dora Nelson Alexander, who preceded him in death. To this union was two children Jeffery Nelson Alexander and Karen Alexander who preceded him in death. He was a postal worker, after retiring from the post office he went into his own Courier Service business. 

After moving to Florence, he later met and married Ola Williams- Alexander. He was a loving and caring husband. He was always willing to give and help those in need. He was a people person and loved laugher and fun, but his greatest love was the love he had for flowers, he loved working in the yard. 

He joined the Spring Branch Baptist Church where he attended until his health begin to decline. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Christine and Clyde William Alexander, Sr.; daughter Karen Alexander; sisters Pastor Pauline Moore and Bessie Alexander.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife, one son Jeffery Nelson Alexander of New Jersey, two step children Tanya Williams of Raleigh, NC and Terrance L. Williams of Mullins, SC, Three step grands, Taylor Richardson and Tamia Richardson of Raleigh, NC, Terran Williams of Columbia, SC, three sisters-in-law Emma Crawford of Marion, SC, Mae Batiste of Columbus, GA, Estella White of Marion SC, one brother-in-law  Oscar (Beulah) Brantley of Marion, SC, a special brother-in-law and  a dear friend who stood by him until the end Bill Nelson of Mullins SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. 

The family of Father Clyde William Alexander Jr., in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Alexander  family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
