Cleo Hemingway

Bro. Cleo Hemingway, 81, departed this life on Sunday August 19, 2018 in Florence County. He was the husband of Virginia Hemingway. You may visit the family at 2517 Lebby Drive, Rains.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethlehem AME Church, Rains on Saturday August 25, 2018 at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

~Obituary~

Quietly on August 19, 2018 God gently touched the eyes of his servant and gave him sleep after a long life of work.

Cleo Hemingway, son of the late Jimmy and Ethis Hemingway was born June 7, 1937 in Rains, South Carolina.

He accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Bethlehem AME Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Burnie and Theodore.

He was married to Virginia Dozier Hemingway.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Virginia, sons Darren (Deborah) Hemingway, East Windsor, New Jersey, Jeffrey Oliver, Newark New Jersey, one daughter Jocelyn Hemingway, Newark New Jersey and three grandchildren. Siblings Rev. McKever (Lucille) Hemingway, Rains, South Carolina, Bobby (Vanessa) Hemingway, Charlotte North Carolina, Maceo (Rose) Hemingway, Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Beverly (James) Davis, Columbia South Carolina and Drucilla Jarrett, Marion South Carolina and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
