Brother Clarence Brantley 66, departed this life Monday November 4, 2019 in Florence County. He was the husband of Barbara "Penny" Brantley. You may visit the family at 2420 Stirrup Court, Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the House Of God Church, Centenary Sunday November 10, 2019 at 2:00. He will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

~ Obituary ~

Clarence “Booty” Brantley was born on April 15, 1953 in Marion County, South Carolina to the late Wilmer Brantley and the late Agnes Grant Taylor.  He departed this earthly life on Monday, November 4, 2019 at MUSC in Florence, South Carolina after an extended illness.

Clarence attended the Marion County Public Schools and graduated from Rains-Centenary High School in the class of 1973.  Clarence was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Ann “Penny” Fling in 1978; and to this union fifteen children were born.

Clarence was  very oriented, he was a man who believed that family should work together and love one another.  He was always there for his family regardless of the circumstances, and because of his love and concerns for his family, everyone loved, respected and admired him. He was a man of many jobs including Russell Stover Candies, Marion County Detention Center, QVC, Volunteer Fire Fighter and farming was a part of his life for many years as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with his mother-n-law, father-n-law; son: Gregory Brantley; three other children; three brothers and a god-son: Elijah Blackwell.

Clarence leaves to cherish his memories ~ his loving wife: Barbara Brantley of the home; his step-father: Cecil (Linda) Taylor of Gresham, SC; daughters: Dehlia, Agnes, Latonya, Reva (Anthony), Shanise (Michael), Hardy (Mattie), Johnathan (Shenequa), Lashawn (Kiyauna), Marcus Brantley and Keith Reed; twenty-five grandchildren he reared as his own; sisters: Elaine Jackson, Loran (James) Reaves, Barbara (Frank) McNeil, Deborah Brantley, Mattie (Terence) Salters, Mary Brooks, Victoria and Jennie Wilson; brothers: Boston Woodberry, Willard Brantley, William Wilson and Kenny Wilson; his special friends: Quincy, Kenny, Chase, Maxie and Semi and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
