Brother Charles Woodberry was 67, and departed this life Wednesday January 6, 2021 in Georgetown.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Gresham Chapel Cemetery, Gresham, SC on Monday January 18, 2021 at 11:00 am.

Charles Edward Woodberry entered into eternal rest on 1-6-2021. He was a quiet, laid back guy with a beautiful smile. He was born on July 23, 1953 , to the late Julius Pressley and Florine Woodberry in Marion County, SC. He received education in the Marion County School District and later participated in the Marion County Disability and Special needs workshop program. He loved church and attended Weevil Chapel Holliness Church where he was known to play the scrub board and the tambourine. He was a gentle soul with a soft heart and didn’t like to see anyone cry. He loved all of his family and never met a stranger. He loved music, he loved to write, puzzle books and Jet Magazine. cheesecake and graham crackers were some of his favorite foods. he loved to cook, clean and wash clothes and knew the exact amount of change to give when he made purchases at the store.

He was preceded in Death by his loving parents Julius P. and Florine Woodberry. 3 Sisters Mary Alice Moore, FLora Mae Davis, and Jane Willis and her husband Robert Willis. A niece Karen Moore and a Nephew Alexander Willis also preceded him in death.

Left to cherish fond memories are 1 sister Earnestine (Nathaniel) Moore of Britton’s Neck, SC, 1 brother in law who was a father figure James H. Davis of Marion. 1 special niece Lucinda (Kenneth) Hughes of Marion SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and acquaintances.


The family of Brother Charles Woodberry, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Woodberry  family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
