Brother Caesar McCummings was 71, and departed this life Sunday April 30, in Florence County. You may visit the family at 806 Cooper St. Marion.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel on Saturday May 6, at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Jackson & Daughters Cemetery. Services will be live-steamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Mr. Caesar McCummings aka “Cebo” , 71 , was born in Marion County on October 23, 1951, to the late Arthur Dick McCummings, Sr. and Frances Burney McCummings. He was also raised by the late Mr. Henry and Nettie Mae Spry. He attended the public schools in Marion County, South Carolina. He worked at Sara Lee Hosiery ,Temp-Star and in politics till his health declined. He loved being around children. He would love to hear them talk and see them play. Mr. Caesar McCummings visited several churches but fell in love with Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the monthly calls and visits from Fannie Morris, Reverend Williams, Mrs. Agnes, and Mrs. Rosalind as well the visits from their deacons . His niece and caretaker, Francesca McCummings, also did daily bible and prayer service with him and his sister, Carolyn McCummings-McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Arthur Dick McCummings, Sr. and Frances Burney McCummings); his sister and brother-in-law ( Nettie Mae and Henry Spry), his brothers (Douglas Smith, Daniel McCummings), his sister (Sophronia Raybon), his niece (Louise Legette), his nephews (Donald Legette, Anthony Legette, Calvin Legette, Shawn McCummings, Darren Bernard McCummings, William Henry Powell, Jr.), his great nephew (Marquis Ford II), his sister-in-law (Beulah Mae McCummings); and his brother-in-law (Phillip Johnson).
Mr. Caesar leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories~ sisters: Carolyn McKenzie (in-home caretaker), Janice Ellen Johnson; brothers: Arthur McCummings, Jr. (transporter), Randall McCummings (daily caller), and Carl (Barbara) McCummings (in-home caretaker) ; host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, Special friends (Ronnie Davis, Fannie Morris, Shirley Douglas),other relatives and friends.
This was a family affair: special thanks to his nieces (Tonya McKenzie (caretaker, advocate); Francesca McCummings (caretaker, in-home minister), Joan Spry (caretaker, cook), Kimberly Paige (caretaker); Portual Norman (cook) ; Tynasia and Zi’Onna Dixon (cookie suppliers, constant companions) ; nephews: Jacoby Gunter aka “Kobe Boy” , Henry Spry, Jr. (barber) and Willie Joe Paige, Jr . ( motivator, ride or die); and cousin: Reverend Virginia F. Davis ( prayer warrior).
